Zac Wracher, class of 2010
Hi Coach,
Just wanted to drop you a quick line....thought you might like to know how Zac's basketball career in Georgia is going.
We decided on a school called Mount Paran Christian School outside of Atlanta.
Earlier this week, Zac made the Varsity team! The coach said that after he saw Zac defending in a game, he made up his mind. He knew Zac could shoot (he's been lights out at practice shooting wise), but needed to see him defend at Varsity game tempo…
Stephanie and I believe that it was the defense he learned under you at Valley Thunder that allowed him to make this jump to Varsity in his freshman year.
So we wanted to say a big thank you for the way you pushed him to be a better defender, as it is paying off very nicely for him!
Hope you are well and encouraged in your work.
God bless, Mark & Stephanie Wracher
I have had the opportunity to work with Kevin and have found him to be an outstanding coach and a great teacher of the fundamentals of the game of basketball. His enthusiasm and passion for the game is contageous and I highly recommend him to anyone looking to become a better player.

Coach Kenney teaches young boys to becoming better basketball players, but more importantly his program guides them in their journey to become exceptional young men.
Coach Kenney helped our sons Steven and Sean learn the strength that comes with self responsibility, the rewards of hard work and preparation, and, the freedom of self reliance. They saw the benefits of team work and experienced the joy of helping others through community service.
Steven and Sean were both very well prepared to play basketball at the high school level as a result to their involvement with Valley Thunder. Steven started on varsity his Junior year and Sean looks to be on a similar tract. Neither boy would likely have been so successful, or, have had a chance to experience as much joy from the game of basketball, were it not for Coach Kenney and the Valley Thunder program.
Thanks Coach Kenney and Valley Thunder!

My son, Eric, played for Coach Kenney for 6th and 7th grade and has trained with him privately since. The most remarkable thing -- even beyond the fundamentals and the "X's and O's" -- is that Coach Kenney teaches accountability. He empowers each player to be responsible to his peers as a teammate and as a friend. He makes players aware that their actions on and off the court impact his peers. He instills a sense of pride each time a player suits-up in a VT uniform. At such a young age, these are valuable lessons and critical to their development once the boys become young men. I can honestly say that Coach Kenney has made a difference in Eric as a student, as a player, and as a person.

Our son Chandler played four years with Coach Kenney and the Thunder. Like all the really good coaches, Coach Kenney is a teacher. The education starts with basketball but quickly expands into other parts of life. Coach has intensity and integrity and inspires the same in his players. “Play hard, Play smart.” It is a good lesson taught by a great young coach.

I've been playing, coaching and watching basketball for nearly 40 years, including coaching my 11yr old son, Jacob, in various recreational leagues. I had been searching for a program to enhance my son's development. A program to teach him advanced basketball skills; technical basketball terminology; show him how to compete at a high level; emphasize how to win & lose gracefully; and most important, provide an environment where the culture is constructive and hard working. Valley Thunder Basketball offers all of this and more! Kevin and his staff, do an outstanding job of teaching both the physical and mental aspects of basketball. They provide methodical and age appropriate dialogue, when directing young basketball enthusiasts in understanding the effort required to be successful athletes and students. I'm thoroughly impressed with Kevin's coaching methods and highly recommend Valley Thunder Basketball.
